Information Centric Optimization of Inventories in Capacitated Supply Chains: Three Illustrative Examples

摘要: Recent enhancements in information technology have played a major role the timely availability and accuracy of across supply chain. It is now cheaper to gather, store, analyze vast amounts data this has presented managers with new opportunities for improving efficiency their chains. In addition, latest developments chain management led everyone believe that cooperation between members can lead larger profits. While some gains been realized from these developments, most organizations failed take advantage them. To overcome this, there need redesign firm’s regards its structure modus operandi. This chapter illustrates information-centric design capacitated chains using three examples based on different configurations.
