Regional assignment of a human DNA repair gene (XRCC5) to 2q35 by X-ray hybrid mapping.

摘要: A number of human genes involved in the repair radiation-induced DNA double-strand breaks have been identified based on analysis radiation-sensitive rodent mutants. Recently, one DSB genes, XRCC5, has mapped chromosome 2 by concordance somatic cell hybrids and microcell-mediated transfer approach. For regional mapping XRCC5 gene, we constructed a panel X-ray mutant background that contain only fragments 2. By using fluorescence situ hybridization, banding, physical these hybrids, localized locus to 2q35. This result is further confirmed segregation indicating radiation resistant phenotype repair-proficient hybrid cosegregates with 2q35 fragment.
