摘要: Abstract Objective Low bone mineral density has been reported in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1DM). The aims of this cross-sectional study were to growth, serum IGF1 concentrations health parameters assessed by Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA). Methods Height was measured converted Z scores (HAZ). Serum (ELISA) a subset. Bone content for total body (less head) (TBBMC) lumbar spine (n = 170, 77 boys, 6–16 years old) using local normative data. Result Mean age 11.1 ± 3.8 years, disease duration 2.2 ± 2.5 years HbA1C 10.1 ± 1.8%. Diabetic shorter than reference population (HAZ − 0.6 ± 1.1); height area (TBBA) Conclusion Longer associated slender but appropriately mineralized bones. Small bones diabetic may increase risk fragility fractures the future. This article is part Special Issue entitled “Bone diabetes”.
