摘要: ESO presently maintains 12 scientific CCD systems at the La Silla Observatory. During next few years, ESO’s Very Large Telescope facility, with four 8.2-meter telescopes, will come on-line. The VLT instruments and upgrades for require a large number of new — total 15 35 CCDs are to be implemented through 1999. This article presents plans fulfilling these needs, focus on three main technologies systems: (i) quality generation amplifiers, (ii) high speed controllers, (iii) long hold time cryostats.
