摘要: Elevated concentrations of the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and IL-6 have been associated with impaired cognitive performance. There are, however, few studies that examined relationship between cytokine production specific aspects cognition in healthy older individuals. Two-colour flow cytometry was used to determine intracellular by activated monocytes, neuropsychological tests were performed using Cambridge Neuropsychological Test Automated Battery (CANTAB) 93 apparently men women aged 55–70 years. A series hierarchical regression analyses carried out examine contribution (% expression (antibody binding capacity (ABC))) recognition, attention working memory, after controlling for socio-demographic variables (age, sex social class). IL-1β% predicted memory. Recognition memory found be sensitive affects age class. The current study suggests higher monocytes may predictive lower performance These findings indicate utilization models vivo upon immune challenge useful studying affected during inflammatory responses, example individuals at risk decline owing age-related disorders.
