Although increasing at different rates worldwide, magnitude increase in prevalence various cardiovascular factors has shifted study causes (ie, 'causes causes'), which include social determinants health. The health reflect impact environment on people sharing a particular community. Imbalances attributed inequities observed between within countries. present article reviews role global level, describing epidemiological transition persistent trend known as 'inverse gradient'. Canada will also examined, including data from ethnic Aboriginal communities. Possible solutions future directions reduce are proposed.
