摘要: The purpose of this study was to analyze the utilization tree species within and around borders Maya Biosphere Reserve in Guatemala compare two sampling methodologies for acquisition such data. Residents communities Caoba (border reserve) Uaxactun (within demonstrated significantly different species. Differences were due unique ecological socio-economic conditions each towns. both relied most heavily onSwietenia macrophylla, Manilkara achras. Cedrela odorata, Pouteria mammosa Caesalpinia spp. considered 39% all useful be marketable compared with only 18% Uaxactun. Overall, more than 80 identified as communities. Changes forest composition along dynamic economic found altering commercial throughout region. Some suggestions are offered community development projects.
