摘要: Lignans and lignins are both derived from the phenylpropanoid pathway formed through phenolic oxidative coupling processes.1 However, metabolic fates of classes natural products quite distinct, since they have different physiological roles during plant growth development. Lignins several functions in their role as integral cell wall components. These include mechanical support, well imparting properties to tracheary elements enabling them be suitable for long-distance water conduction. Roles been also proposed defense via formation “impenetrable” barriers, these being generated following attack, example, by encroaching pathogens herbivores.
