摘要: Background. Generalized atherosclerosis is increasingly recognized as an important cause of end-stage renal disease (ESRD). We questioned to what extent atherosclerotic risk factors determine function in the general population. Methods. used baseline data Prevention Renal and Vascular End-Stage Disease (PREVEND) Study. A total 8592 subjects, aged 28 75 years old, visited outpatient clinic for blood pressure anthropometric measurements, fasting sampling, delivery two 24-hour urine collections creatinine clearance albuminuria calculations. Design-based multivariate linear regression was estimate function. Results. In a model, male gender body mass index (BMI) were associated with higher function, while increasing diastolic pressure, serum triglycerides, use antihypertensive or lipid-lowering medication lower Age, systolic plasma glucose showed inverse U-shaped relationship Cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein (HDL) ratio, smoking, antidiabetic did not contribute explain The related independently C-reactive protein (CRP). Albuminuria CRP itself also Following age, BMI, urinary albumin excretion (UAE), had strongest relation Conclusion. conclude that differences population are (partly) explained by various factors. Some elevated filtration, some impaired others both
