摘要: This paper describes the spatiotemporal changes pertaining to land use cover (LULC) and driving forces behind these in Doodhganga watershed of Jhelum Basin. An integrated approach utilizing remote sensing geographic information system (GIS) was used extract LULC change. Multi-date maps were generated by analyzing remotely sensed images three dates which include LandSat TM 1992, ETM+ 2001 IRS LISS-III 2005. The extracted adopting on-screen image interpretation technique a GIS environment at 1:25,000 scale. Based on analysis, observed spatial extent different types over period 13 years. Significant forest, horticulture, built-up agriculture. Forest has decreased 1.47 %, Agricultural 0.93 % while as area increased 0.92 %. net decrease forest agriculture indicate anthropogenic interference into surrounding natural ecosystems. From study it found that major for population growth stream discharge. discharge responsible conversion agricultural horticulture 1.14 % extent. It been increasing human together with decreasing account watershed. Therefore, existing policy framework needs focus upon mitigating impacts change so ensure sustainable development resources.
