摘要: The association between in vitro fertilization (IVF) and the zona-free hamster egg sperm penetration assay (SPA) was studied 134 couples. indications for IVF were tubal disease 82 couples, unexplained infertility 23, male 10, combined mechanical factors 19. In general, a positive SPA good predictor of subsequent (91 107 couples). Specificity (number couples with divided by number times 100) 94% infertility, 76% 46% infertility. A negative predicted an overall failure 78% (21 27 Sensitivity test 100% but only 63% high predictive value outcome warrants its routine use prescreening programs. Because lack oligoasthenospermia, bioassay should not be relied upon predicting subfertility. animal model human reinforces both basic research clinical decision-making.
