Computational fluid dynamics modeling of immobilized photocatalytic reactors for water treatment

摘要: A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model for the simulation of immobilized photocatalytic reactors used water treatment was developed and evaluated experimentally. The integrated hydrodynamics, species mass transport, chemical reaction kinetics, irradiance distribution within reactor. experimental evaluation performed using various configurations annular ultraviolet lamp sizes over a wide range hydrodynamic conditions (350 < Re 11,000). showed that CFD able to successfully predict degradation rate pollutant in analyzed reactors. In terms models, results demonstrated laminar performs well systems under flow conditions, whereas Abe-Kondoh-Nagano low Reynolds number stress turbulence models give accurate predictions photoreactors transitional or turbulent regimes. analysis confirmed rates organic contaminants are strongly limited by external transfer; as consequence, prediction capability is largely determined transfer performance used.
