摘要: A novel haloaurophosphate complex called Black-Gold has been synthesized and applied to localize myelin within the central nervous system. The technique is tailored studies using formalin fixed non-solvent processed tissue. stains large myelinated tracts dark red-brown, while individual axons appear black. This study demonstrates how this tracer can be used both normal pathological myelin. Specific changes associated with exposure diverse neurotoxicants including kainic acid, domoic 3-nitropropionic Fluoro-Gold isoniazid are demonstrated characterized. also combined other histochemical markers Nissl stains, retrogradely transported fluorescent tracers of neuronal degeneration. Advantages include high resolution, contrast, short processing time, consistent reproducibility.
