摘要: Previous research investigating the roles of T effector (T(eff)) and regulatory (T(reg)) cells after injury to CNS has yielded contradictory conclusions, with both protective destructive functions being ascribed each these cell subpopulations. In this work, we study dichotomy by examining how regulation immune system affects response trauma. We show that, in injury, T(eff) T(reg) subsets CNS-draining deep cervical lymph nodes are activated, surgical resection results impaired neuronal survival. Depletion T(reg), not surprisingly, induces a robust draining is associated Interestingly, however, injection exogenous cells, which limits spontaneous beneficial also impairs found that no accumulate at site changes numbers do alter amount infiltration other into injury. The phenotype macrophages site, affected: addition removal negatively impact alternatively activated (tissue-building) phenotype. Our data demonstrate survival when either removed or added. With exacerbation neurodegeneration seen depletion recommend exercising extreme caution considering therapeutic targeting possibly chronic neurodegenerative conditions.
