摘要: OBJECTIVE To investigate the cost and impact of routine preoperative computed tomography (CT) in patients with high-grade endometrial cancer, its role identifying extrauterine disease. METHODS We retrospectively identified cancer who underwent CT scan prior to surgical procedure between September 1, 2005, January 31, 2015. Cases which findings led alterations treatment plan were documented. Incidental unrelated diagnosis captured. Cost imaging diagnostic procedures was based on Ontario's Physician Services-Schedule Benefits. RESULTS Of 179 included, 57 (31.9%) diagnosed stage 3-4 showed evidence metastatic disease 30 (16.8%) patients; however, planned altered only nine (5.0%) cases. results incidental requiring follow-up 78 (43.6%) cases, three second malignancies. estimate an expenditure CAD$14 185.85 for every case management changed. CONCLUSIONS Preoperative is efficacious although it seldom alters management. Many these scans will identify further interventions, resulting substantial costs.
