摘要: Abstract Calcite pseudomorphs after aragonite were recorded throughout the high-pressure marbles of Basal Unit (Evia Island, Greece). The form a columnar microstructure oriented normal to foliation, which developed at peak metamorphic conditions within stability field aragonite. Modification by bending long axis calcite pseudomorph and dynamic recrystallization, was mainly dependent on intensity subsequent, exhumation-related deformation. We used degree preservation or modification observed in shear zones, distinguish between subduction- nature studied zones. also as tool investigate variations strain intensity, recrystallization mechanism kinematics during exhumation marbles. Combined microstructural data suggest that subduction-related ductile deformation preceded growth associated with internal imbrication SE-directed thrusting. stage characterized localization middle upper structural levels Unit, E-directed thrusting (i.e., northeast pre-Neogene configuration). Final achieved top-to-the-E brittle thrusting, accompanied syn-orogenic extension crustal levels.
