摘要: Background Loa loa has recently emerged as a filarial worm of significant public health importance consequence its impact on the African Programme for Onchocerciasis Control (APOC). Severe, sometimes fatal, encephalopathic reactions to ivermectin (the drug choice onchocerciasis control) have occurred in some individuals with high Loa microfilarial counts. Since density microfilariae is known be associated prevalence rates, distribution map latter may determine areas where severe might occur. The aim study was identify variables which were significantly presence microfilaraemia subjects examined, and develop spatial model predicting microfilaraemia.
