摘要: Abstract Landscape values indicate how humans perceive and evaluate the landscape. In our study areas, two hydroelectric proposals have potential to alter landscape dramatically, particularly river (reservoir) riparian land. An understanding of spatial patterns values, especially social cultural which are intangible underestimated in energy planning processes, can help decision makers anticipate public concerns adjust or abandon project accordingly. Intangible be revealed part by leveraging media. Such data sources benefits relation challenges previous, manual approaches: they give us access people (e.g. youth) who often absent conventional participation methods, provide large datasets at low cost. We collected photos captions that were geo-tagged areas on media site Instagram , built a filtering model increase validity for calculation point density (specifically, kernel estimation). The maps reveal that: (1) vary over space; (2) aesthetic value was most widespread (not surprising given typical uses platform); (3) town old ones, popular viewpoints likely attractors multiple values. People tend accept appreciate familiar landscapes, thus proponents should make particular allowances locations key multiplex
