摘要: Abstract Switches from migratory (diadromous) to nonmigratory (freshwater) life histories are known have occurred repeatedly in some aquatic taxa. However, the significance of loss diadromy as an initiator for speciation remains poorly understood. The rivers New Zealand's South Island house a species flock recently derived galaxiid fishes Galaxias vulgaris complex. Members this complex morphologically and genetically similar diadromous G. brevipinnis found Zealand southeastern Australia.
