摘要: Land Surface Temperature (LST) is an important factor in global climate. LST governed by surface heat fluxes, which are affected urbanization. In order to understand urban climate, needs be examined. This study aimed investigate the intensity and pattern of examine relationships between characteristics land use, indices, population density Hat Yai City. Landsat 5TM images were used for interpretation use derivation LST, normalized difference built-up index (NDBI) vegetation (NDVI). The classified into 4 types: commercial/high residential, medium minimum residential cover/park. average maximum derived from 25.9, 33.7 15.8 °C, respectively. areas with high located principally central areas, slightly northwest-southeast area, including commercial center newly expanded areas. was well related types density. relationship NDVI however portrayed negative correlation, while that NDBI highlighted a positive correlation. It concluded can evaluate risk Urban Heat Island (UHI) may help city managers better prepare possible impacts climate change. doi: 10.14456/WJST.2015.7
