摘要: Lipoxygenases (LOXs) constitute a heterogeneous family of lipid peroxidizing enzymes capable oxygenating polyunsaturated fatty acids to their corresponding hydroperoxy derivatives. In mammals, LOXs are classified with respect positional specificity arachidonic acid oxygenation into 5-, 8-, 12-, and 15-LOXs. Arachidonate 15-LOXs may be sub-classified reticulocyte-type (type-1) an epidermis-type (type-2) enzyme. Since the leukocyte-type 12-LOXs very similar 15-LOXs, these designated 12/15-LOXs. Several LOX isoforms, in particular 15-LOX human 5-LOX, well characterized structural functional properties On other hand, biological role most LOX-isozymes including 15-LOC is far from clear. This review intended summarize recent developments research emphasis molecular enzymology regulation gene expression. addition, major hypotheses on physiological patho-physiological roles will discussed briefly.
