Unexpected results in the chiral limit with staggered fermions

摘要: Abstract A cluster algorithm is constructed and applied to study the chiral limit of strongly coupled lattice Schwinger model involving staggered fermions. The based on a novel loop representation model. Finite size scaling susceptibility data from lattices up 64×64 indicates absence long range correlations at strong couplings. Assuming that there no phase transition weaker coupling, results imply all mesons acquire mass non-zero spacings. Although this does not violate any known physics, it surprising since typically one expects single pion remain massless spacings in fermion formulation.
