Extreme events induced by collisions in a forced semiconductor laser

摘要: We report on the experimental study of an optically driven multimode semiconductor laser with 1~m cavity length. observed a spatiotemporal regime where real time measurements reveal very high intensity peaks in field. Such regime, which coexists locked state and stable phase solitons, is characterized by emergence extreme events produce heavy tail statistics probability density function. interpret as collisions structures opposite chirality. Numerical simulations model, showing similar dynamical behavior, substantiate our evidences corroborate description such interactions between solitons transient different rotations.
