摘要: The increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration predicted to the end of this century may cause several alterations on plant species development, which shall result changes structure and function communities. present work aimed investigate effects development Baccharis dracunculifolia, a key pioneer Neotropical shrub. Seedlings B. dracunculifolia were exposed 720 ppm as well ambient (approximately 360 ppm) during 120 days open top chambers. Growth dry biomass accumulation higher under elevated concentrations. As response enrichment, there was an 134% total mass, 208% root mass 152% stem mass. shrubby habit larger number meristems produced high promoted 137% branches. study contributes knowledge about how tropical plants respond increased [CO2] environments with low nutrient limitation.
