Piezotronic effect on the luminescence of quantum dots for micro/nano-newton force measurement

摘要: The luminescence of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) can be adjusted using the piezotronic effect. An external mechanical force applied on QD generates a piezoelectric potential, which alters QD. A small may induce significant change emission spectrum. In case InN QDs, it is demonstrated that unforced wavelength more than doubled by 1 μN. strategy effect to tune color leads promising noncontact forcemeasurement applications in biological and medical sensors force-sensitive displays. Several materials have been investigated terms tunability presence an force. It found CdS CdSe demonstrate much higher δλ/δF, makes them suitable for micro/nano-newton measurement applications.
