摘要: The objective of this research was to examine the difference in force mechanisms between fatal and potentially survivable motor vehicle crash (MVC) aortic injuries (AI) compared non-AI severe thoracic (ST). Of 324 autopsied MVC driver or front seat passenger fatalities (1997-2000), there were 43 AI (36 scene deaths, 7 hospital deaths) 5 additional survivors. 48 AI, only a 42% survival rate for those reaching alive. data suggest different delivery injury patterns vs ST MVCs. They that an approach improving safety measures may involve better devices reducing fraction is focused on upper portion subject's cage levels ribs 1-8.
