摘要: Leishmania spp. are intracellular parasitic protozoa responsible for a group of neglected tropical diseases, endemic in 98 countries around the world, called leishmaniasis. These parasites have complex digenetic life cycle requiring susceptible vertebrate host and permissive insect vector, which allow their transmission. The clinical manifestations associated with leishmaniasis depend on interactions between parasite immune system. Consequently, can be manifested as self-healing cutaneous affliction or visceral pathology, being last one fatal 85-90% untreated cases. As result long host-parasite co-evolutionary process, developed different immunomodulatory strategies that essential establishment infection. Only through deception manipulation system, complete its survive. understanding mechanisms evasion disease progression is development novel therapies vaccine approaches. Here, we revise how manipulates cell death responses to survive thrive shadow
