摘要: The directional solidification has been carried out for Al-9, 12Bi, and Al-3.4Bi-2.5Si (wt pct) alloys in a Bridgman apparatus with transversal magnetic field. microstructure of the alloy samples solidified at different melt superheat (MS) temperatures field strengths observed. It was indicated that average size Bi-rich spheres primary dendrite spacing decrease increase temperature. effect MS treatment on interface morphology interaction between discussed immiscible alloys. Moreover, influence transverse analyzed. larger strength, smaller is spheres. effects spheres' nucleation, spatial movement, collision were discussed. application results formation sphere-aligned structure even hypermonotectic alloys, mechanism explained this article.
