摘要: Scientists now recognize how quickly environmental conditions are changing, yet to monitor and understand these spatially distributed changes more dispersed quantitative qualitative data needed than ever before. The need for comprehensive robust has created the burgeoning field of citizen science, which engages volunteers report this information scientists. Precipitation monitoring networks like RainLog.org considered one oldest types science with many in existence over 100 years. is a modern version original was developed response better characterize precipitation events provide stakeholders totals distributions throughout Arizona. statewide network that relies on across Arizona daily into an online reporting system. To ensure reliable, quality assurance control analysis (QA/QC) completed subset gauges Tucson area. Results indicate although there errors inherent any network, whether volunteer or scientist driven, most part identified using basic interpolation methods. This paper analyzes range user gauge type errors, discusses significance each error provides recommendations mitigating network.
