摘要: Abstract We studied bank erosion and accretion in the Ningxia–Inner Mongolia reaches of China's Yellow River. The study was based on topographic maps 1958 1967, which had been derived from aerial photos a field survey satellite imagery 1977, 1990, 2000, 2008. determined area by comparing sequential changes position banks these years. found 229 stretches where (> 10,000 m 2 ) occurred, 110 were along left 119 right bank. total retreat to 2008 equaled 518.38 km , 257.29 km occurred 261.09 km eroded entire section we amounted 242.21 km 121.61 km 1967 96.89 km 1977 30.80 km 1990 26.87 km 2000 annual rate averaged 26.91 km /y, decreased 12.16 km /y 7.45 km 3.08 km then increased slightly (to 3.35 km /y) Bayan Gol–Hekouzhen experienced most intensive collapse. Shizuishan–Bayan Gol sustained minimal erosion. have also analyzed estimation error for causes
