摘要: Abstract Background Some of the greatest barriers to achieving blood pressure control are perceived be failure prescribe antihypertensive medication and lack adherence prescriptions. Methods Self-reported data from 6017 Canadians with diagnosed hypertension who responded 2008 Canadian Community Health Survey 2009 on Living Chronic Diseases in Canada were examined. Results The majority (82%) individuals reported using medications. main reasons for not taking medications either that they prescribed (42%) or had been controlled without (45%). Of those (n = 963), 18% started by 2009, initially 5058), 5% stopped. 89% indicated took as prescribed, 10% occasionally missed a dose. Participants recently diagnosed, measuring at home, having plan pressure, receiving instructions how take less likely medications; similar factors tended associated stopping use. Conclusions Compatible high rates control, most report adherence. Widespread implementation self-management strategies standardized may further optimize drug treatment.
