摘要: A hybrid moire-finite element (FE) analysis was used to determine the crack tip opening angle (CTOA) along a tunneling front in three-point bend (SENB) specimen. The specimen machined from ductile 2024-T351 aluminum plate of 8.1 mm thickness and pre-fatigued an initial length width ratio 0 /W≈0.45. then subjected stable growth varying Δa=0.5 5.5 mm, after which post-fatigued mark final loaded failure. quarter segment SENB modeled with truncated 3-D elastic-plastic FE model. Measured surface displacements, were obtained by moire analysis, increasing load prescribed on CTOA computed displacement, approximately 1 behind, normal front. good agreement between measured are indicative accuracy procedure.
