摘要: Post-translational modifications (PTMs) play an important role in the regulation of protein function. Mass spectrometry based proteomics experiments nowadays identify tens thousands PTMs a single experiment. A wealth data has therefore become publically available. Evidently biological function each PTM is key question to be addressed; however, such analyses focus primarily on events. This ignores fact that may act concert function, process termed crosstalk. Relatively little known frequency and functional relevance crosstalk between sites. In bioinformatics approach, we extracted occurring proximity sequence from available databases. These their flanking sequences were subjected stringent motif searches, including scoring for evolutionary conservation. Our unprejudiced approach was able detect respectable set motifs, which about half described previously. Among these could add many new proteins harboring motifs. We also several novel through widespread appearance high conservation pinpoint at previously nonannotated concerted actions. By employing network proteins, propose putative roles motifs with two sites close proximity.
