摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the chemical, physicochemical, and biological properties of mineral fibers. Among most important occupational air pollutants are particles coal, quartz, fibers asbestos, which inhaled by miners exposed industrial workers. Mineralogically, asbestos is divided into two classes: serpentine amphibole. The former a sheet silicate, whereas latter built up double chains tetrahedra. Chrysotile principal member family, all other minerals belong to amphibole group. usually worked relatively near surface open-cast pit methods. Once overburden has been cleared, explosives used release large tonnages rock fiber, accounting for only few percent parent rock. Crude together with associated mother conveyed sorting stations, where waste rejected ore undergoes series crushing grinding operations. Fiber bundles widely different lengths inevitably mixed together. Subsequent screening results in rough separation grades but such too imperfect remove shorter from longer even lower contain long
