摘要: Objectives There is a dearth of published information on the characteristics sex workers in Pakistan. This study sought to characterise and compare hijra non-hijra from eight large cities Design c 2 KruskaleWallis tests, multivariable logistic regression were used where appropriate. Methods Study respondents described demographic, sex-work, risk behaviour variables using cross-sectional integrated biological behavioural quantitative survey. Results A total 3350 surveyed, which 2694 included study. The average age was 24.1 years (SD 6.3), duration work 7.5 5.9). Respondents averaged 30.9 2.7) paid receptive anal acts month prior their interview, while 21.5% reported condom during last occurrence sex. Of those HIV prevalence 5.4 per 1000; notably, no HIV-positive any injection drug use. Finally, intercity heterogeneity observed characteristics, with almost all differing at p<0.01 level. Conclusions Low levels education, high volume suboptimal use makes for potentially volatile situation. Information provided by this can play an important role designing effective prevention programmes, particularly capturing between cities, as evidence accumulating that shift epidemic phase, well affected populations occurring
