摘要: In view of the very extensive and often prolonged use benzodiazepines in therapeutic practice, this study was designed to investigate whether or not cognitive ability is impaired long-term benzodiazepine users, determine nature extent any deficit. Fifty patients currently taking for at least one year, thirty-four who had stopped benzodiazepines, a matched control group subjects never taken past less than year were administered battery neuropsychological tests measure wide range functions. It found that high doses long periods time perform poorly on tasks involving visual-spatial sustained attention. This consistent with deficits posterior cortical function.
