摘要: The contribution of adult aquatic insects to riparian prey availability at four sites along three hillstreams in Hong Kong was estimated during 2004–2006 dry and wet seasons using light traps deployed different distances from the banks. number biomass terrestrial collected were markedly higher season. Numerically, (especially Chironomidae Philopotamidae) remained a major catch component banks throughout year comprising 77% (range: 61–85%) total insects. Their season (mean: 50%, range: 33–62%) than 21%, 8–45%). Aquatic insect abundance decreased with increasing distance streams both seasons: numbers 10–20 m less 45% those banks, declining 13% 80 distance. No such decline observed for insects, but limited dispersal meant catches highest stream Changes similar abundance. Adult may represent an important water-to-land energy subsidy predators Kong, magnitude varied seasonally fell sharply streams.
