摘要: Techniques described and suggested herein include systems methods for minimizing inter-facility data transfer during retrieval of archives stored on storage using redundancy coding techniques. For example, coded shards, which may identity shards that contain unencoded original archives, be configured such a variable number the can leveraged to meet performance requirements or time-to-retrieval limitations requests associated with and/or encoded therein. Under some circumstances, implementing monitor throughput rates, capabilities, burdens, so as preferentially retrieve are favored fewer hosting facilities used given retrieval.
