摘要: This chapter discusses the system implementations, applications of erbium-doped fiber amplifiers, and issues with amplifier treated as a building block. Optical usage in preamplification, power amplification, inline amplification for long-haul systems provides higher level performance. Erbium-doped amplifiers have opened way to transmission using soliton pulse propagation contribute significant increase sensitivity receivers. The experiments are based on intensity-modulated formats. results data rates ranging from 0.5 10 Gb/s optical used PIN long distance application been propelling growth research field, it has led development commercial undersea terrestrial vastly larger capacities than before.
