摘要: The new early Sarmatian microvertebrate localities Kozard (Hungary, Nograd County) and Vârciorog (Romania, Bihor are of first importance for the understanding faunal evolution, as well palaeoenvironment palaeoclimate changes during late middle Miocene in Central Paratethys. Both rich Foraminifera Mollusca. This allows to correlate both continental faunas Elphidium reginum foraminifera zone Mohrensternia mollusc (early s. str.; Serrevalian). Furthermore, is type section lithostratigraphical unit Formation. Cricetodontini dominant elements rodent which also include, beside smaller cricetid rodents, glirids sciurids. large hamster species from described “Cricetodon” venczeli n. sp. a more evolved form, very similar “C.” klariankae Felsőtarkany-Felnemet 2/3, thus assigned herein cf. klariankae. We that these three taxa belonging an evolutionary lineage, underlines their biostratigraphic importance.
