摘要: Abstract The influence of the Andes Cordillera on transient disturbances is investigated in this study using a lag-correlation analysis. This analysis shows that unfiltered geopotential height data have wavelike pattern moving to east while tilting west vertical. When wave approaches Cordillera, it exhibits orographic effects such as anticyclonic turning low-level disturbance trajectory, zonal trajectory upper levels, distortions isolines correlation, and an elongation maximum correlation lee side Andes. low-attitude levels implies decrease vertical tilt system windward increase side. baroclinicity results baroclinic development predicted from linearly obtained normal-mode solution presence mountains.
