摘要: The Littoral Acoustic Demonstration Center (LADC) conducted a series of passive acoustic experiments for studying ambient noise environment and marine mammal (namely, sperm whales) phonations in the Northern Gulf Mexico by long‐term autonomous recordings broadband signals on single bottom‐moored hydrophone. It was previously reported that extensive spectrogram analysis whale revealed persistent null pattern animal spectral signatures could be associated with either waveguide propagation effects or uniqueness an phonation apparatus. previous modeling addressed echolocation deep‐water foraging animals. demonstrated patterns analyzed spectrograms not explained echolocating at depths. This paper presents results properties near‐surface communication signals, codas, distinctive sequences clicks repeatedly present LADC recordings. possibility individualization based frequency click hydrophone is discussed.
