摘要: Hippocampal place cells are characterized by location-specific firing, that is each cell fires in a restricted region of the environment explored rat. In this review, we briefly examine sensory information used to anchor their firing fields space and show that, among various cues can influence activity, visual motion-related most relevant. We then explore contribution several cortical areas generation signal with an emphasis on role cortex parietal cortex. Finally, address functional significance activity demonstrate existence clear relationship between positional spatial navigation performance. conclude cells, together head direction provide useful for spatially guided movements, thus unique model how encoded brain. 2004 Elsevier Ltd.
