摘要: ABSTRACT The treatment of pituitary infantilism has been unsatisfactory in the past, since growth hormones animal origin have ineffective human. This failure response attributed to differences molecular weight and other physico-chemical characteristics between various species. In this study, human hormone, prepared by method Li from pituitaries obtained at autopsy, was administered a female dwarf aged 11 years, 5 months. Metabolic balances were determined for an initial control period seventeen days, followed periods five ten days during which hormone given intramuscularly doses 5, 10, or 2.5 mg. daily. Nitrogen retention demonstrated all 3 dosage levels, but most pronounced 5-mg. level. There also some sodium, potassium phosphorus slight increase concentration serum alkaline phosphatase.
