摘要: Abstract The ecosystem services derived from tropical plants sustain local societies and make significant contributions to the global economy. Often many types of are a single plant species, introducing potential for tensions between forest users. Despite users having different approaches how is used, little has been done understand species’ sustainability may be impacted by opposing views on their utility. In this paper, inherent properties were used propose conceptual approach comparing values species perspectives commercial loggers indigenous peoples. Using provisioning associated with sample Rupununi, Southern Guyana, logging subsistence use indices developed compare perceived two management. analysis suggested that more than 84% value greater indices. This study examining management, adopting document plants, managers can begin answer questions where in space, which conservation management efforts should pursued. methods proposed paper peoples allies spatial optimization decisions resources payment initiatives such as REDD+.
