摘要: We are exploring a new approach for heavy-ion beam injection (e.g., into the relativistic collider at BNL), as well sources of intense high charge state ions to be mounted on relatively low voltage platform energy ion implantation. While conventional metal vapor vacuum arc (Mevva) can produce up hundreds milliamps or more several-times-ionized U3+), recent results from Batalin et al. indicate that addition an energetic electron may lead considerably higher states. An alternative way is where Z-discharge plasma used enhance multiple ionization. As plume expands magnetized drift region, triggered in drifting plasma. The then extracted and analyzed using time-of-flight system. report initial these schemes with applied discharge voltages 1 2 kV.
