Benchmarking the endodontic literature on MEDLINE.

摘要: The purpose of this study was to identify and quantify the endodontic literature available for clinical decision making. A search strategy based on Medical Subject Headings endodontics developed examine MEDLINE. identified articles were limited human subjects English. Sensitive specific methodological filters four categories information: etiology, diagnosis, therapy, prognosis. results then subdivided by year trends. Between 1990 1998 MEDLINE 3,152 published in English humans. number per (mean ± SD) sensitive searches etiology (28 10, 1 2), diagnosis (38 11, 1), therapy (59 15, 3 3), prognosis (40 13, 10 5), respectively. each category increased 3% year. There 150 articles/yr at least 120 journals cited (see Table 5 ) which base decisions. Average = average no. articles/year.
