摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter reviews on how the distribution of marine organisms in a limited coastal area is determined, they react with each other and their inanimate environment, numbers are controlled. The involves assessment physical chemical conditions observations abundance plants animals, field experiments which it interfere either environment or its occupants, behavior, laboratory. starts brief description topography Lough Ine, some comments those geological characteristics throw light origin determine present features shore. It proceeds to hydrographical - water currents set up by tides water, sediment. then describes important conspicuous inhabitants rocky shores, relating current, wave action, exposure air, conditions, biotic factors such as predation. Systematic problems natural selection arose incidentally during course work.
