摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the developments and up-to-date review of trimethylenemethane metal complexes. Tris(carbonyl)-n 4 -trimethylenemethaneiron(0) was first complex to be synthesized obtained from reaction 3-chloro-2-chloromethylprop-1-ene with [Fez 2 (CO) 9 ] or Na [Fe(CO) ]. The thermal extrusion a simple molecule an n 3 -allyl complex, generate -trimethylenemethane originally observed by Emerson. ability [Pd(PPh ) promote elimination trimethylsilyl acetate allyl silane 31a highly reactive palladium intermediate, which is considered form [Pd{n -C(CH }(PPh )w ], Trost Chan. structure this has been substantiated single crystal X-ray study. A gas-phase electron diffraction study tris(carbonyl)-n -trimethylenemethaneiron establishes that carbonyl ligands trigonalpyramidal ligand are in staggered conformation about iron central carbon being closer center than outer methylene carbons. Initial studies have shown complexes susceptible electrophilic attack. cycloaddition alkenes can envisaged as Diels–Alder (471 + π) for synthesis five-membered rings. In special cases substituents good anion-stabilizing groups, carbonate 77 (Z = CN) serves suitable precursor.
