ELECTRON PARAMAGNETIC RESONANCE STUDIES ON FREE RADICALS PRODUCED BY Tβ-PARTICLES IN FROZEN H2O AND D2O MEDIA AT LIQUID NITROGEN TEMPERATURE

摘要: Samples of H2O and D2O solutions H2O2, HClO4, HF, etc., in light heavy water, were tritiated with T2O to activities from 0.1 1 c/ml.The paramagnetic resonance spectra recorded at liquid nitrogen temperature interpreted as representing H (D) atoms OH (OD), HO2 (DO2) free radicals compared those induced under analogous conditions by Co60 γ-rays.The lower radical yields observed the present work have been ascribed difference linear energy transfer between Tβ-particles more penetrating radiations.
